The Compass Software staircase design solution is the perfect building block between the sales and planning process of a staircase and the production of the finished project. The combination of the interactive Staircase Configurator and the use of augmented reality is the most powerful sales tool on the market, according to the company.
“Compass Software has been offering powerful staircase building solutions for decades, but the company is more than able to keep up with the progress of technology. Now [we] offer two modules, which when combined make the ultimate sales tool for staircase builders,†the company said in a statement.
“The first is the company’s own Staircase Configurator, a staircase design tool which is interned based. This means that customers can design stairs with this user-friendly tool from any device (PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone) and any place in the world. Stair builders can use the Configurator to design stairs with the end-customer on-site or even make it available to customers on their company website. The finished staircases are saved on a cloud and can be viewed from all angles in 3D. Furthermore, the application saves the finished construction data, which can be used for parts lists, forms, and CNC code generation later.â€
As a new additional feature, Compass Software now also offers the export of Staircase Configurator data to the Microsoft HoloLens, an AR (augmented reality) device. The AR glasses show the user the real surroundings and at the same time project virtual elements.
“Staircases can be viewed through the AR glasses in their actual size with the actual material and all additional features, creating the perfect illusion. The visualization helps to avoid construction mistakes at an early stage. The AR glasses are an immense help for sales, as they create a portable showroom,†the company said.
